Futura Group’s ability to innovatively solve learning dilemmas goes back to our beginnings. Have a look at the timeline below to see where we’ve come from.
Reinhold Forster, our CEO, was first drawn to this field when he was working within TAFE NSW as Senior Head Teacher in Tamworth. He identified the key challenges facing hospitality students in this rural location and developed some interactive resources together with Ross Galloway to address shortfalls in access.
We started “Futura Training”, focusing on the development of interactive CD-ROMs with books, and eventually the improvement of an entire catalogue of hospitality training materials.
As internet speeds improved, Futura Group’s focus shifted to online learning, enabling resources to be shared across the globe.
Our in-house, online content authoring tool was used to create linear content, allowing us to update content more regularly.
During an intense brainstorming session the eCoach framework was born – to be developed in Adobe Flash. eCoach allowed for rapid – yet high-quality – production of eLearning content. We began work on an experimental idea to make the eCoach software we use in-house available to anyone.
Futura Group restructured to reflect the growing areas of the business. The team at Futura Group continues to innovate in development of training resources in new areas to tackle new markets, led by Iain Macdougall. Today, Futura Group utilises eCoach to develop and deliver our own resources online, as well as to create eLearning for our clientele that can be easily updated.
Moving into the future, Futura Group will continue to innovate and is committed to producing quality learning products second to none.
